"Streetopolis": Guided Photography Walk

Street Photography: Approaches, Practices and Methods
Guided Photography Walk

In conjunction with the Streetopolis exhibition and Artists’ Talk, the Association of Urban Photographers (AUP) will run a one-day workshop / guided photo walk on the Upper West Side. The main focus will be to encourage participants to consider how they might approach photographing in the street from a range of perspectives.

This workshop will be of particular interest to artists and photographers interested in rethinking how they might engage with critical urbanism and how ‘the street’ features within an expanded notion of ‘the urban’. Focus will be on approaches taken to image-making by five of the exhibiting artists: Kyler Zeleny, David Kendall, Yanina Shevchenko, Paul Halliday and Rebecca Locke. These artists are all experienced urban photographers and instructors regularly working within street environments, and will take participants out on a guided walk in the neighborhood followed by a feedback session. Use of cameras and smartphone cameras are both welcome.

Please note that space is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Tickets available here: http://streetopolis-photo-walk-rsvp.eventbrite.com
