VCU Commonwealth Singers Performance and Reception

The Commonwealth Singers is the most select choral ensemble at Virginia Commonwealth University. Directed by Dr. Erin Freeman, the choir is known for its sensitive and dynamic performances of masterworks and a diverse spectrum of standard and non-traditional choral repertoire. The choir has performed at ACDA (American Choral Director’s Association) and VMEA (Virginia Music Educators Association) conferences, and internationally in Beijing, Shanghai and Montreal.

Join the Commonwealth Singers for a special performance and a small reception afterwards welcoming VCU Alumni and friends. Free and open to the public.

Spark and Echo Arts: 5th Anniversary Celebration

Spark and Echo Arts is a nonprofit seeking to share the Bible's relevance with new audiences by responding to every verse of the Bible through the arts. Spark and Echo Arts commissions hundreds of artists from diverse backgrounds to create works of visual art, music, theater, poetry, dance, and film. This 5th Anniversary Celebration includes an art exhibition curated by Blake Ruehrwein and an evening of live performances, showcasing highlights from the organization's five-year history.

Still Point: Andrew Nemr and Max ZT

Still Point is a duo concert exploring musical influences from around the world through the lens of traditional American arts, jazz-based improvisation, and the idea of the sacred space that exists between people. Still Point brings together the virtuosic stylings of tap dancer Andrew Nemr and hammered dulcimer player Max ZT, and the unique magic that occurs when they join together in performance.
