New York Classical Players returns to its NYC home at W83 with an evening of inspired contrasts—pairing world premieres with beloved classics. The program opens with the debut of The Four Seasons of Bernini by Louis Karchin, a vivid homage to Mozart’s musical language. Next comes Mozart’s elegant Violin Concerto No. 3, featuring NYCP’s artist-in-residence, Stella Chen. The evening continues with another premiere: Triple Concerto for Two Violins and Viola by George Meyer. This dynamic work showcases the collaborative artistry of Emma Frucht, Brian Hong, and the composer himself. The program concludes with Haydn’s emotionally charged Symphony No. 49, “La Passione”—a work of stormy intensity and expressive depth, delivering a powerful close to the concert.
