“Hues of Haiti”
Solo exhibit by Ashley D. Galloway
September 22 - November 20, 2023

In her debut photography exhibit, “Hues of Haiti,” Ashley D. Galloway captures an intimate, joyous, and local glimpse into the vibrant community that surrounds her. Through this exhibit, we extend an invitation to reflect upon the possibility of joy in resilience, and to celebrate the immeasurable power of community.

Ashley D. Galloway is a Haitian-American multidisciplinary artist from Brooklyn, New York.

Ashley's work takes a multidisciplinary approach, primarily focusing on crafting narratives that explore themes of identity, culture, and the human experience, with a special emphasis on the experiences of Black and Afro-Caribbean communities. Across various mediums, her work is unified by a single aspiration — to authentically represent people through her art.

about the gallery

At the Gallery at W83, we cultivate art and community on the Upper West Side, providing space for personal engagement, community conversations, and spiritual reflection, and collaborate with local artists from diverse backgrounds to explore universal themes of culture, community, and faith.

We bring together different perspectives in this space as an invitation to join in conversations we believe are vital to us all. We affirm the artist's right to express their views independently, and the views expressed by the artists are their own and do not necessarily represent the Gallery at W83 or Redeemer West Side.
